SimulationThe Center for Simulation Technology and Academic Research at NorthShore University HealthSystem provides state-of-the-art immersive medical simulation for trainees of all levels.

We are one of the most active multi-disciplinary training centers in the country.

We believe that superior patient care depends on effective integration of patient safety initiatives, teamwork, education, professionalism, and research.

Improving the care of our patients is the overarching goal. Using simulation, we can show you how.

Staff  
Ernest Wang, MD, FACEP is the Academic Director for CSTAR. He is a board-certified emergency physician in practice since 1999 and has been the Associate Residency Director for Emergency Medicine for 7 years.
   
Morris Kharasch, MD, FACEP is the Operations Director for CSTAR. He is an active member of the Professional Staff and is involved in multiple hospital committees at NorthShore. He has been an oral board examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine for the past 10 years.
   
Pamela Aitchison, RN Pamela Aitchison, RN is the Chief Coordinator of CSTAR. She has been the lead nurse facilitator since CSTAR’s inception. She began her career as a nurse specializing in emergency medicine and worked for 20 years before joining CSTAR. She is also a major in the Army.
   
Shekhar Menon, MD Shekhar Menon, MD is the 2010-2011 NorthShore Medical Simulation Fellow. He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Cook County Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program.
