Dr. Ravi K. Bashyal
Dr. Bashyal was raised just outside Chicago in Oak Park, IL. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on a full academic scholarship, earning his Bachelor of Science degree Phi Beta Kappa, and Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Bashyal earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, graduating with multiple honors. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where he served as a chief resident in orthopaedic surgery during his final year. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Bashyal has been an active participant in research activities throughout his academic career with multiple publications and book chapters to his credit.
Dr. Bashyal specializes in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction. Dr. Anand Srinivasan
A native of Toronto, Canada, Dr. Srinivasan attended Pennsylvania State University, graduating with Highest Distinction. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Srinivasan completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He received a broad orthopedic background working at many hospitals in the Texas Medical Center, including Ben Taub General Hospital and the largest pediatric hospital in the country – Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Srinivasan completed a one-year fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Srinivasan specializes in Adult Hip and Knee Recononstruction including full and partial joint replacements, as well as complex hip and knee replacements. He is a member of the NorthShore University HealthSystem Medical Group located at 1000 Central Street in Evanston and will be seeing patients at the Evanston, Highland Park and Vernon Hills offices. Dr. Ritesh Shah
Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Shah pursued his undergraduate education at Loyola University Chicago graduating Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Biochemistry and Economics. He received his medical degree with Honors from The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Shah recently completed a year long fellowship in Joint Reconstruction, Joint Preservation, and Joint Resurfacing at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. During his fellowship, he obtained unique training in joint preservation and joint reconstruction, including the evaluation and treatment of hip arthritis, hip impingement, hip dysplasia, hip perthes-like deformities, hip osteonecrosis, hip sports injuries, knee arthritis, and failed hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Shah specializes in Joint Reconstructive and Joint Preservation surgery which includes problems of the hip and knee including hip impingement, hip dysplasia, hip labral tears, hip arthritis, hip osteonecrosis, knee arthritis, knee osteonecrosis, and painful or failed previous total hip and knee replacements. Foot & Ankle Reconstruction
Dr. Lan Chen
Dr. Chen, a Chicago area native, is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She earned her medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. During medical school, she received the prestigious Doris Duke Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship. Dr. Chen completed her orthopedic surgery internship and residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center where she won a resident research grant from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) and served as a chief resident in her final year of training. Dr. Chen recently completed a year-long fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Her fellowship was enhanced by the unique opportunity to provide care for the New York City Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. She has presented her research at a number of national and international conferences including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
Dr. Chen’s clinical expertise is treating adult and adolescent foot and ankle disorders including sports/dance injuries, osteochondral lesions of the foot and ankle, fractures, arthritic conditions of the foot and ankle, nerve disorders, and deformities including flatfeet, bunions, and hammertoes. She is a member of the NorthShore University HealthSystem Medical Group located at 1000 Central Street in Evanston and will be seeing patients at the Evanston, Skokie and Glenbrook offices. Spine
Dr. Mark Mikhael
Dr. Mikhael attended the University of Michigan, graduating with Highest Distinction. He earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine receiving Honors in Basic Sciences. Dr. Mikhael completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the UCLA Comprehensive Spine Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Mikhael specializes in the surgical treatment of Cervical and Lumbar spine disorders, such as disc herniations (causing sciatica or radiculopathy) and Spondylosis (stenosis and arthritis). His interests include minimally invasive spine surgery, microsurgery of the spine, nerve compression, and spinal reconstruction (stabilization and fusion). Dr. Mikhael believes that the needs of the patient come first and will work with them to appropriately explore all reasonable conservative measures prior to pursuing surgical intervention. He is a member of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute and will be seeing patients at their Glenview and Wilmette offices.
