Message from our Chairman

The Radiology Department of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) is a leader in technological advancements and patient care. In 2011, our subspecialized radiologists and technologists performed more than 550,000 procedures. The clinical research our radiologists are involved in allows unique access to the latest state-of-the-art technology and diagnostic methods. Much of that research is in cardiovascular disease and cancer. Our commitment to the latest technology allows our radiology patients to benefit from state-of-the-art, minimally invasive diagnostic procedures. Each patient receives individual attention for the highest level of care; patients and referring physicians benefit from our advanced communication system - PACS.  This picture archival and communication system allows us to speed the delivery of results and broaden the availability of radiological services. 

NorthShore is one of only a few healthcare organizations worldwide using a completely electronic medical information system.  Through our EMR system, physicians have access to each patient’s medical history, including radiology images from previous visits, from anywhere in the system, expediting communication and access among physicians and improving patient care.
